About Ossum
We're building tools that bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation through domain-driven design and AI assistance.
Our Mission
Modern software development suffers from a persistent gap between what business experts envision and what technical teams build. Requirements get lost in translation. Documentation becomes stale the moment it's delivered. Teams spend more time clarifying intent than solving problems.
RIDDL serves as a design bridge between humans and AI — a structured specification language precise enough for machines to process yet readable enough for domain experts to author and review. By giving both sides a shared language, RIDDL eliminates the translation layer that has long been the source of miscommunication, rework, and project failure. Read more in a related whitepaper…
We believe there's a better way. Synapify enables teams to write specifications that are both human-readable and machine-processable. Business experts can understand and contribute to them. AI can use them to generate accurate implementation code. Documentation stays in sync automatically. Tooling derives beautiful graphical views from the model, so nobody has to code PlantUML or Mermaid again.
Our mission is to make this vision accessible to every software team, regardless of size or technical sophistication.
The Vision
"Business experts write specifications that directly inform implementation. Technical teams focus on solving hard problems, not translating requirements. Documentation is generated, not written separately. AI assistants help author and implement specifications. Systems are specified once and translated to many targets."

Leadership
Reid Spencer
Founder, President & CTO
Reid is a veteran of the software industry with a career spanning the decades since the dawn of personal computers. Reid was engaged as an early employee in 5 startups and has played many roles: software engineer, software architect, solution architect, product owner, corporate executive, and visionary leader. Recently, Reid has focused on event-driven systems, domain-driven design, and reactive architecture.
Reid created RIDDL to address the communication challenges he observed repeatedly across organizations of all sizes. That eventually grew into a thriving commercial offering provided by Ossum Inc., to support the community of solution architects, domain experts, and software developers.
Reid plans to close his career by dedicating his future years to the development of Ossum technologies. He hopes Ossum will significantly reduce the amount of effort needed by future software professionals.
